Hi all! Wow a whole month since my last post. I have a really great ‘excuse’ though
Baby #3 is on his/her way!
and morning sickness kicked my butt for about 5 weeks before I finally asked my doctor for something to help.
And help it did!
So now that I’m feeling a little closer to ‘normal’ (did not have morning sickness this bad with the previous two so I have no idea why this one was so bad—I’m thinking my body is just reeeeally good at this by now haha) I decided to update you all on the baby and the resulting changes in my work & life
Let’s do the baby update first!
Due date: August 15, 2013
Week of pregnancy: 10 weeks
Cravings: none really yet. There are things I want to eat only because I know they won’t upset my stomach but nothing that I’m craving.
Meds: Can’t stomach the prenatal pill so I get to take gummies
also on my anti-nausea pill.
Drink of choice: decaf french vanilla iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts
Food of choice: whatever sounds the most appealing.
Clothing: still in my own non-maternity wear.
Weight gain: actually it’s a loss since I couldn’t really stomach much for 5 weeks.
Milestones so far: had an internal ultrasound last week and it is definitely only one in there
my family & friends thought maybe it was twins because I was so sick
Ok now onto how my work will be changing:
I love graphic design. I love making blogs pretty.
But the stress it causes me to keep on track, make it perfect and make sure my clients are 110% happy isn’t really what I wanted when I started this journey over 2 years ago.
I’ve slowed way down on the clients I am taking on and will stop completely around the time the baby is born so I can take a maternity leave. What I will do instead is ramp up my DIY Your Blog Design posts, offer “Bits and Bobs” design elements (pre-made elements that I can quickly customize to your font/color/wording needs), and hopefully offer some super cute pre-made templates on a limited sale basis.
I am also working on a print-your-own graphic section. Invites, party packs, wall decor, etc.
I need things that take less time but still allow me creative freedom
I’m so excited about this newest addition to my family & to my business.
Pssst: This also means I will not be able to attend Haven Conference this year
because it is too close to my due date. I am SO so bummed about that!!
I will however be at Blissdom again as a community leader in March but that is the only conference I can do this year so far.
I really look forward to meeting you & even if we can’t meet I hope to follow along the twitter stream for Haven!

How have you been?
Hi Kristi – who would you recommend to do blog design? I had you in mind to create my blog
I’m sorry you’re changing-up gears now! Would you mind e-mailing me some names of those you know and recommend, I would appreciate it. Thank you so much!!
Kelly, I’m not completely done doing custom blog designs– just slowing down on how many people I take at one time! Feel free to submit a sign up form on the design site….I’m booking late April start dates now.
Glad you’re feeling better! Morning sickness is EVIL!
Soo…does this mean my queue request didn’t go through then? I filled out an online request at the end of December with a followup email a few days later; still haven’t heard. Just need to know so I can figure out my blog improvement timeline.

Jen, I’m not sure- I have an assistant who handles the new requests & scheduling. If you still haven’t heard back please send another email–spam might have eaten it!
AHHH! Holy cow, congrats!! That is soooo exciting!! YAY!

I love your baby update. SO cute!
I admire your ability to make decisions. It sounds like you have a peace about the direction you’re taking your business. I can’t imagine how hard it is to please everybody(myself included). You’re an amazing designer! We’ll all be at a loss. But, I will definitely check out the DIY stuff.
