Recently I got the opportunity to review a new show & line of toys called Max Steel. Little Man was SO excited to “work” with me and took his job seriously.I participated in this sponsored campaign for One2One Network. I received 6 action figures, a Turbo Sword & a promotional DVD All opinions stated are my own.
We threw a review party with some of his friends to watch the show, eat some yummy snacks and play with the action figures.
What show was it you ask?
Well only the newest, coolest action hero from Mattel:
I invited his friends through Facebook Events. I created a banner for the event page using the colors and some similar fonts to get them excited before the event. I created a generic birthday version for you if you’d like it because Max Steel would be an amazing birthday party theme!
Free, personal use only downloads are available at the bottom of the post.
After that I went to the Max Steel website and took a look around. I had never heard of Max Steel before so I spent a lot of time reading about it, the characters, etc. I found that they have awesome free downloads and I printed a bunch of coloring pages and some ID cards for the kids to take home. I placed a set of coloring pages and one ID card in manilla folders (these were their “Top Secret” N-Tek agent folders) for the guests to take home as their goody bags.
I also printed out one of the desktop wallpapers to use as decor and I printed and assembled two of their 3D Character crafts so that we could have some decor on the TV stand since this was a review party.
The day of the party we set everything out, decor, snacks, N-Tek Top Secret Folders and of course, the action figures
and Turbo Sword!
The excitement was building for my Little Man!
Friends started arriving and oohs & ahhs over the toys started.
We let the kids say hi and play for a bit then started the DVD which included a couple shows and some promos. Halfway through the first full length show they were asking to open the toys. I said yes and the room exploded with voices, shouts and packaging.
The kids ended up playing for over an hour and a half with the toys and we let them outside for more running around room.
Each toy had a different action and while instructions are included on how to make them work, it was very easy for even the littlest kids to figure them out (the youngest was 4).
The sword was the favorite and once they realized that Steel could be attached to the Turbo Sword and that made it make even more sounds and phrases?
Well then it was just awesomesauce time.
The Turbo Sword (sold nationwide with a MSRP of $29.99) is amazing for action-packed play. With built-in motion sensors, the sword makes battle sounds, lights up and repeats key phrases from the hit animated series with a few simple moves. The included Steel character can be attached which unlocks even more sounds and phrases.
All in all it was a fun time and I’m glad Little Man liked the show (he’s asked to watch it everyday since then!) and was able to gift the action figures to his friends!
Here is what a few of the parents & kids had to say about the show and the toys:
“Lucas loved his toy and his pictures. He couldn’t wait to get home to color them. I like that the toy is easy for him to operate. He figured it out while I was reading the directions.” -Elizabeth
“…thanks for having us, the kids had a ball and played with the toys all the way home! The boys said they liked that each of the toys had its own feature/accessories and they like how they light up. Savannah liked the one she got in particular as she likes the flying disks! From my point of view, I agree with Elizabeth in that they are great toys they can operate themselves. I also like that they are not flimsy and seem pretty rugged so can be played with for a long time to come.” -Jennifer
“I think Gavin liked trying each of them and seeing how they work. It is nice that they all do something different and they kept the little kids and bigger kids entertained…..the show looked like maybe geared for ages 6 or 7 and up. I think they both had a good time.” -Angel
I have a feeling this will be a popular character and show soon (did you know they already have a Max Steel Halloween costume out? Your little one could be him for this years Halloween! How fun!) so I created a birthday party printable pack (don’t worry it’s FREE). The Max Steel logo doesn’t appear on any of the printables but this pack is certainly inspired by the show (and how much fun we had at the party!). It could also be a great Robot themed party or just a blue and sliver party.
Here’s what’s included in this PERSONAL USE ONLY free printable party pack:
Make sure you go to the Max Steel website and create your own ID card, print out some coloring pages (or those awesome 3D patterns!) and watch some videos or play some games! Your little super hero will love it!
Have a happy day,
