Need something for Mom for Mother’s Day?
We’ve all done the chocolate and flowers over the years amirite?
How about a little twist on that idea?
chocolate butterflies in the flowers for Mom!
Are those not so super cute??
Easy to make as well. I promise. (did you catch the pun?) You can even omit the wire and just use pipe cleaners (it’s cute too–I made some that way at first)
Ready to make your own?
You’ll need some Dove® silky smooth dark chocolate promises (I may or may not have a mouth full of them right now ahem) in a bag.
Next grab some little dowels or bamboo skewers (whichever is easier–dowels can be found in the cake section of craft stores or in the hardware store–skewers are in the grocery store).
Paper for a backing (to stick the chocolates to) I used printable sticker paper for some and cardstock with glue for others. White duct tape helped me stick the really stubborn ones together
Either jewelry wire or pipe cleaners for the ‘antenna’
How to make chocolate butterflies:
Now all I did was lightly trace around two chocolates with a pencil and cut it out keeping a little ‘bridge’ in between. I twisted some wire into antenna and stuck the wire and the chocolates on the sticker paper. Then I used white duct tape to stick the whole thing to the stick.
Maybe this will help explain:
I am so in love with this. It’s taking two very traditional things and combining them in a non-traditional way! Plus it’s cute and you can still eat the chocolates! win-win-win!
Excuse me while I go eat some of these:
I have no idea how that happened.
So tell me what are you getting your Mom for Mother’s Day?(shhh I won’t tell. I pinky promise) Want to join in on the fun? tweet or facebook your #sharetheDove gift idea! Use the hashtag and share with Dove!
