Hi Creative Kristi readers! My name is Laura and I blog at Olive and Love about everything from interior design, home organization, and crafty projects to cooking in mass volume and stocking your freezer. My days are pretty busy between taking care of three kids under 8, two dogs, two cats and a house full of hobbies to distract me from chores. I love completing random projects and sharing them with others because sometimes I feel there’s just nothing to show from cleaning the kitchen counter when it’s just gonna get messy again. Ya hear me?
Anyhoo my most popular project is my Shutter Wall. After obtaining shutters from Habitat for Humanity and Craigslist I painted them and attached them to my dinning room wall. I love how it turned out and I’ve gotten a positive feedback from the online community as well as my family and friends.
My upside down lamps usually receive a ‘love it’ or ‘hate it’ kind of response and I get a kick out of people’s reactions. My husband and I designed the pendants from Home Depot boxed lights and TJ Max lamps. What do you think of them?
I love shopping at thrift stores and garage sales and then spray painting, re-wiring and/or redesigning my fun finds. I’ve worked on lamps, furniture, and even an old card catalog.
My Vase with Flowers, a huge art project with my kid’s school was quite a piece. It sold for 1700 at the school auction and turned out pretty cool.
